We have the first week of a new academic year under our belts and it has been wonderful to have routines and procedures looking a little more normal now that ‘bubbles’ and ‘staggered starts’ are largely a thing of the past.
I know you will all join me in offering a wonderful William Hogarth welcome to our new Reception and Nursery families. For children who are new to the school, parents and families may want to follow the school Twitter account @Hogarth_the as this provides a wonderful snapshot into daily life at school and the learning that the children are doing.
Curriculum newsletters are on the website for each year group so that you can see what your children will be learning this half term. Next week, children in Years 5 & 6 will begin swimming lessons every Thursday as part of their school PE curriculum. Please help your child to prepare for this by practising putting on swimming caps and encouraging them to dry themselves after bath and shower time. Thank you in advance for your support with this.
Children in Year 6 will be heading off on their residential visit to the farm at the end of September. Mrs Luciani, Miss Cowell and Mr Young will be accompanying the children on their journey. There is a short information meeting at 3pm on Wednesday afternoon for parents of Year 6 children who are visiting Home Farm. The information will also be posted to the school website and Year 6 Google Classroom for all parents and families who are not able to attend. Please let the school office know whether you intend to join the meeting.
Finally, a huge welcome back from us all. It is wonderful to see you all again. Have a great weekend.
