Year 2

Matisse have begun the year with a focused and resilient attitude to school life. All the children have been curious in their learning and supportive of each other in getting back to their routines. Matisse have dived into their topic ‘Land Ahoy’ and have especially enjoyed learning about some terrifying and deadly pirates such as Blackbeard. The children have added to their skills base by closely observing photographs, creating timelines and operating maps.

The class have truly impressed with their writing pieces. Writing detailed, dramatic stories based on the lives of fictional and real past explorers. Matisse are currently exploring ‘The Snowy Day’ as part of Black History Month and will produce diary writing and inspired artwork. The class are also loving Harry Potter during story time!
