Message from the Headteacher

Dear Families,

We have almost reached the end of the academic year which is always a slightly bittersweet time; we get to reflect on the achievements of the past 12 months, but are also arriving at the time when it will be necessary to say goodbye to valued friends, colleagues and some of our lovely children.

Year 6 are coming to the end of their time in primary school and marked the occasion magnificently with their performance of Ali Baba and the Bongo Bandits.  The children were remarkable, putting on an absolutely incredible show.  The singing, jokes and acting were delivered with great style, keeping us all entertained.  Particular thanks goes to Miss Cowell and Mrs Gordon for wonderful props and stage management.

I am very sad to let you know that our amazing office team are retiring at the end of the year.  It has been my absolute privilege to have had Mel and Alana on my team and I cannot begin to say how much they have helped me in my role as a headteacher.  Both of them have asked me not to make a big fuss about their departure, but this is going to be very hard to stick to.  Mel is looking forward to an idyllic retirement in the sun; I am pretty sure there is going to be a glass of wine to accompany her in the lounger by the pool and I know you will join me in wishing her a very, very heartfelt farewell.  Alana has moved out of London and has been absolutely stellar in making the commute every day.  For the ladies amongst you, Alana is leaving us to pursue her dream and passion of building a bikini design business (I am probably at an age where a bikini is no longer appropriate, but I can still live in hope!)  Please do pop in and offer them your good wishes over the next few days.

Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 SATs results are in – KS2 children will get their personal result letters next week, but I have popped a quick overview below.

I am really proud of how well the children have done, overcoming the gaps and barriers created by repeated lockdown learning.  They have worked so hard.

Hoping you all have a lovely weekend.
