Before School
There is supervision in the classroom from 8.45am onwards each day when we have a 'soft start' before the main curriculum work starts at 9:00. Children should be brought to school and collected by a responsible adult each day. Children must not arrive in school without a parent before 8.45am. There is no provision for school staff to look after children before this time. If children need to be in school earlier than this they should be booked into the school Breakfast Club.
Breakfast Club
Breakfast Club runs from 8:00am until the beginning of school. It is run by Club Sporters please click here for price and booking details.
End of Day
Pupils must be picked up from school at 3.30pm.
If pupils are going home by themselves parents must put it in writing in their child's planner and let the school office know. If someone other than the child’s usual carer is going to pick them up please let either the child’s class teacher or the office staff know. This ensures the safety of all children.
If pupils are not collected on time on several occasions the Education Welfare Officer is informed. If parents are very late picking children up this may result in Social Care being informed.
After School Care
After school care runs straight after school until 6pm. It is run by Club Sporters please click here for price and booking details.
After School Clubs
The School offers a comprehensive after school club programme. After school clubs run 10 weeks on average each term. Once your child is booked onto an after school activity we ask that they commit to the term. Parents/carers will be informed via parentmail when they will be able to book clubs. This is done through the 'William Hogarth Plus' tab on the website or by following this link:

Free Money for Childcare https://www.childcarechoices.gov.uk/
It is a really difficult time at the moment with bills, rent and food prices all soaring. At The William Hogarth School we are continually looking at ways to help out our community and try to alleviate some of the pressures families are facing. As a new parent I have recently been told about Tax -Free Childcare which is a government scheme to help working families with the costs of childcare. What I didn't realise is that it is not only for 15/30 hours free childcare for nursery aged children (if entitled) but also includes wrap around provision such as breakfast and after-school care as well as after-school clubs for children up to the age of 11.
Tax-Free Childcare is a bank account that is set up in your child's name and for every £8 you put in, the government will top up with another £2, up to a maximum of £2000 a year. You must pay out to an organisation that is Ofsted registered - (schools and lots of sports clubs are) and then you pay for your provision through the scheme.
Check out the other eligibility criteria and sign up at https://www.gov.uk/tax-free-childcare - it's very easy!
