Lunch

Allergy Menus - A guide for Parents from Taylor Shaw

School dinners are prepared on site by catering staff. The pupils always have a choice of menu including a meat option, a meat Halal option, vegetarian and an alternative option.  Pupils that cannot eat certain foods and/or have food allergies are catered for, however the school office must be informed.  The meals offer good value for money and encourage healthy eating. Salad and fruit are always available as a choice for the pupils.  Although every child in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 will be offered a free school meal at lunch time, families of children receiving certain benefits are still required to complete an online application form.  Please click for the Free school meals eligibility checker  or to make an application for free school meals Free school meals (please click). This can help the school raise extra funds. For children in Key Stage 2 (years 3 to 6) lunch money should be paid in advance either termly or weekly through our online system parentpay and cost £12.50 per week (£2.50 per day).

Pupils may bring a packed lunch instead of having a hot meal. Children need to bring their lunch in a clearly marked packed lunch box. They are not allowed to bring fizzy drinks, cans or glass bottles, sweets, nuts or nut products as we are a nut free school.  Please encourage your child to bring a healthy range of food in their lunchbox.

Milk and Fruit

The Government provides a piece of fruit each day for pupils from age 3 – 7.  School milk is available FREE for children under 5 years of age and around £14 per term for over 5 years olds. If parents/carers claim certain benefits they may be entitled to free milk.

All milk should be ordered by contacting Cool Milk at www.coolmilk.com
