Year 5 Shonibare and year 6 Riley play leaders

Most of years 5 and 6 help younger children in the dining hall and the playground. They do this on a rota basis. Their role is to instigate inclusive games and ensure that children who might not join in enjoy a healthy active play time.

Mu'aad. "I feel good about being a play leader because it makes other children happy and me happy too. Play leading is when you are leading one of the key stage 1 classes. There is one week when year 5s are play leaders and the next is when year 6s do it. Some of us learn about play leading in 'learning to lead' This is when we make games ready to lead the KS1 children in playing. Play leaders also look after our school equipment and sometimes clean the playground."
