Year 5 Shonibare and some guests from year 4 Blake worked on place value in an unusual setting.

They have been reinforcing learning from last year on place value so they could remember and secure their learning about what to do when multiplying or dividing by 10 and it's multiples.

Suheyla and Jahzara: "We had to be the counters and be in different lanes. We felt that it forced us to be in the right lane. It taught us how to multiply by 10, 100, 1000 and even 10,000 by moving lanes (one jump for every zero...)." 

The children remembered to move to the left if they multiplied and to the right if they divided.
