Year 6 Visit the University to Roehampton for the TeenTech Festival

On Thursday, Year 6 had the exciting opportunity to attend the TeenTech Festival at the University of Roehampton — a truly inspiring celebration of science, technology, engineering, and maths (STEM). From the moment we arrived, we were surrounded by energy and innovation. Schools from across the region gathered to showcase imaginative and creative projects, each one bursting with originality and problem-solving.

Throughout the day, our pupils explored how STEM can shape the future. TeenTech encouraged teamwork, critical thinking, and creativity — all while giving us the chance to engage with hands-on challenges and thought-provoking activities. One of the most memorable moments was seeing the incredible projects other students had created and reflecting on how ours compared. It was inspiring to see such a variety of ideas come to life.

The festival was also interactive, allowing us to vote for our favourite architectural designs and take part in engaging tasks that tested our curiosity and skills. It was a fantastic experience that sparked new interests and gave us a deeper appreciation for the possibilities within science and engineering.
It was a day filled with learning, creativity, and excitement — one we won’t soon forget!

A Hands-On Day at the TeenTech Festival

On Thursday, Year 6 visited Roehampton University to take part in the exciting TeenTech Festival. The day was packed with amazing opportunities — from exploring what it’s like to be part of a live news crew to discovering innovative buildings, sculptures, and the wide range of careers in science and technology.

One of the most exciting moments for me was filming a live video — I even got to be the cameraman! It gave me a real sense of what it’s like to work behind the scenes in broadcasting.
It was a fun and inspiring day full of hands-on learning, and I’d definitely love to go again!
