The main tasks of the Governing Body are to ensure pupils receive high quality education, to plan for future development and improvement, and to support the school.
Our Governing Body is made up of community governors, LEA governors and elected parent and staff governors. The Parent Governors are elected by other parents and serve as Governors for a period of 4 years. Parent governors are valued members of the Governing Body team and play a vital role as representative parents. The full Governing Body meets six times a year with three of those meetings forming part of Governor days focused on school improvement.  Further information on the Governing Body's approach and on the content of the Governor days is in the document Governing Body Single Structure'  please see link above.

Chair of Governors

I joined the Governing Body in March 2019 and was elected Chair of Governors in June 2019. My background has almost entirely been in Education, and I enjoyed a highly successful career as a Head Teacher, Local Leader of Education and as a Long Challenge Consultant. I feel that my wide base of experience and knowledge of education is a strength along with my deep passion for education and improving the lives of children. Achieving the best possible outcome for every child I think underpins the very reason for being a governor. Though retired I still keep up to date with current educational issues and research as I am connected to and very interested in it. I have a strong connection with Chiswick having been born and educated there and am delighted to be able to have the opportunity to be associated with the William Hogarth School.

Mr David Brennan

Mr David Brennan

Vice chair / Co-opted Governor

I joined the WHS Governors 18 months ago and have taken great satisfaction from the role so far. From the Governors meetings, school visits and meetings with Ms Stockley and the team at WHS, it is clear to me that there is a determination and team spirit to make the school the best it can be for the children. I recognise the importance of this as I am in Education myself. I am a teacher of 18 years and a former Head of Maths, having worked in many schools across the world including Singapore and Hong Kong. Having a galvanised group is fundamental to a successful school and that is what I have seen at WHS so far. When not in schools, I enjoy time with my friends and family as well as running and golf.

LA Governor

I joined the Governing Body in January 2021. I am a qualified chartered accountant, having trained and practiced with Deloitte within the FTSE audit department. This year I joined Superunion, a brand agency part of WPP Plc, to provide corporate communications consultancy to FTSE listed clients building an annual report. I am excited to join the Governing Body, to provide a new perspective as a younger member as well as utilising the skills I developed in training for my ACA and in audit. I have experience mentoring primary school children whilst at university and have a younger sister at secondary school in Ealing (who also attended William Hogarth), therefore I have seen first-hand the pressures faced by both students and teachers. My aim is to support the school - both students and staff, in a 'Well-being' capacity, and ensure that the school obtains the right support to deliver on all future plans.

Mr Pierre Kremer

Parent Governor

I am a citizen of the world, who has been calling London home since 2014. Married with two children (my son is in reception at William Hogarth). A former secondary language teacher myself - hails from a long line of educators. Currently a management consultant focusing on business strategy, business operations, and organisational change for both corporate and government entities. Besides my passion for education, I joined the governing board with the aim to lend my consulting skills and experience to the betterment of the William Hogarth school.

Dominic Hughes

Co-opted Governor

I was delighted to join William Hogarth as a Co-Opted Governor in October 2020. I have over 15 years’ experience as a primary school teacher and senior leader, including three years’ as interim headteacher in schools in Hounslow and Ealing. I am passionate about improving children’s academic and social outcomes and believe this is best achieved through a collaborative, research-informed approach to school improvement. I am also interested in how schools and teachers can optimise the use of technology in school and at home during and after the pandemic. I hope my knowledge and experience will support and strengthen the strategic leadership at William Hogarth. In my spare time I am a keen gardener and armchair cricket fan.

Parent Governor

What a privilege to be asked to be a Parent Governor in September 2023. I moved to Chiswick in 2007 and have two children who both love The William Hogarth school. My career has been in science and technology, working for public sector organisations and companies that deliver products to public sector organisations, from the Metropolitan Police to Channel 4. I am skilled in research and development, analysis and management. I am currently working on global deployments and building partnerships to help my organisation scale up. My maternal grandmother was illiterate, in a time and place where her father felt his resources were best spent on her brother's education. My grandmother instilled in my mother, and in turn in me, the value of a good education and how it opens doors and provides opportunity. I am passionate that every child has access to a good education which provides high academic development as well as social and emotional growth in an inclusive environment. I look forward to working with the governors and the school on delivering the very best outcomes for its students.

Mr Richard Laux

Mr Richard Laux

LA Governor

I joined William Hogarth School as a Local Authority Governor, in early 2023. I am a Government statistician, currently working in the Cabinet Office, and so I am comfortable with interpreting data and exploring what it means in real life and working in public administration more generally. For several years I was a governor (and chair of the Finance Committee) at Kingsley Academy.

The William Hogarth School is committed to having an active Board of Governors that is diverse and inclusive and reflects the community we serve. Where we have a vacancy we will actively seek volunteers from that community, although in the case of both Staff and Parent Governors, in the event of multiple applicants, they are elected by a democratic vote of the Staff or Parent body as applicable.

We are currently have a vacancy and are seeking a Parent Governor.
